The Carlisle - Enköping
- Lahti link European food culture in hospitality training
An European educational partnership project, a partnership with
catering students and teachers from ENGLAND, FINLAND AND SWEDEN.
The final party of the project was taking place April
16-18.1998 at Lahden ammatti-instituutti.
Carlisle College in England, Lahti Vocational institute in
Finland and Westerlundska Gymnasiet, Sweden has been developing
over three years a partnership with the help of funding from the
European Union.
The students and and teachers have been working together by
using e-mail and video conference. They also have visited
each others. Already 1996 produced the Swedish team Swedish menus
at The Comptons restaurant, Carlisle in co-operation with hosting
students. And a Swedish class visited Lahti two weeks.
School year 1997-1998 also Yrkesskolan i Jakobstad in Finland was
involved as sleeping partner, Mr Crubilier taught the catering
students at Yrkesskolan during his visit at Jakobstad in a few
days.
